Abstract:
Temperature, salinity, and density for 148 sea ice cores drilled dring the N-ICE2015 cruise. Ice cores were retrieved from a variety of ice types at different locations on each of four floes.
Most of the ice core locations are from a handheld GPS at the site. Where this was not available a position from the ships GPS at the relevant time has been used. Ice cores that have lat lon from the ship GPS are: Leg 1 29.01.2015, ‘worlds end’ core 113, 114 Leg 2 None affected Leg 3 08.05.2015 ‘dive tent / incubation hole thin ice’ cores 195, 196. 20.05.2015 ‘refrozen lead sites 1-5’ 10 cores 231-240. 26.05.2015 ‘refrozen lead sites 1-5’ cores 249-253. 04.06.2015 ‘main coring site’ core 278 05.06.2015 ‘secondary coring site’ core 280 Leg 4 20.06.2015 ‘NB1’ core 302 21.06.2015 ‘NB1’ and ‘NB3’ cores 304 and 303 22.05.2016 ‘NB3’ core 305. Other oddities: Leg 3 05.05.2015 ‘EM31 line’ 9 cores along the EM31 transect on the thin ice. The GPS reading was taken on the ice, but at the beginning of this line. It is not known precisely where on the EM31 line each core was located. cores 177-185 28.05.2015 ‘main coring site and secondary coring site’ The only GPS reference given is for main coring site. Secondary coring site is located ~100m away. Cores 264 and 265 are from secondary coring site.
